We sell this Cusco LSD because we feel it's an excellent LSD for the price point. The advantages of the type RS over a conventional clutch LSD is that it uses coil springs to preload the clutch pack instead of a single cone spring. Since cone springs in LSDs lose their strength over the use, the rebuild period is quite frequent and the preload can change as the differential is used more leading to inconsistent behavior. The coil springs of the Cusco Type RS allow for a more consistent preload and substantially less frequent rebuild intervals. The use of multiple coil springs also allows the differential to be tuned to have different amounts of preload buy adding or removing springs.
We choose to stock the 1.5 way lsd because it's the perfect choice for use on the track. The Cusco LSD allows for it to be setup with two different ramp angles so you can choose how aggressively the clutches lock up. It can be setup to be 35°/20° or 45°/20°.
This LSD is the Spec F version which includes highly polished FFD (Flat friction discs) which allows for the LSD to have a smoother lockup without sacrificing absolute lock up torque.
