Product Overview
In an ideal setup, the sway bar end links of a suspension should be perpendicular to the lower control arm. The end links should also be perpendicular to the sway bar arm. For the BRZ, GR86, GT86, and FRS, when you lower the car, this geometry becomes less than ideal. When that happens, the effective spring rate of the sway bar becomes less linear, which can cause the rear end to behave less predictably.
Our kit moves the sway bar mounting position higher to get the suspension closer to an ideal setup for lowered cars. In addition, the kit has 3 different fore and aft positions, which allow you to adjust for the best geometry if you have an adjustable sway bar with multiple mounting holes.
For cars other than the second-generation BRZ, the rear sway bar is mounted to the subframe. The second-gen BRZ has the sway bar directly chassis-mounted. Using our kit, the sway bar will be directly chassis-mounted like the second-generation BRZ.
Cutting the stock brackets off the subframe is required on all cars except the second-gen Subaru BRZ. On the stock BRZ, you would simply remove the rear sway bar mount frame, which will drop 5.5 lbs of weight.
